Annual Memorial Service - Remembering those we love

12 Apr 2024

Our Annual Memorial Service will be held on Saturday 11th May at 12pm in Goldsmiths Hall, Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8 D089 VRR7. The service will also be streamed live on our YouTube channel @MNDIreland.

This Remembrance Service gives us the opportunity to honour and celebrate the lives of those we love but who are sadly no longer with us. This years’ service will be led by Dr. Neil Ward from the Humanist Association of Ireland and Rev. Chris Hudson from the Unitarian Church, Belfast. It will include a selection of readings and poems along with music from renowned singer Mary Flynn.

It really is a special service and we do hope you and your family will join us on the day to mark the memories of those we treasure so fondly. There will be light refreshments after the service.

Please RSVP by Thursday 2nd May by filling out the form at the bottom of this page and include the number of people attending for catering purposes.

This year, as another way to remember loved ones we are introducing our May Memories Packs. This contain cornflower seeds and a plant label that you can personalise with your loved ones name. Sow these cornflower seeds as a tribute to your loved one on the day of our memorial service or at any time during the month of May.

The blue cornflower (Centaurea Cyanus) has been adopted by many MND support organisations around the world as a symbol for Motor Neurone Disease. The cornflower has a fragile appearance but a hardy nature and an inner strength.

In a similar way, people with MND and their families show remarkable strength in coping with the changes this disease brings to their lives.

The packs can be purchased here from our online shop.

Once again, we do hope you will join us on 11th May at 12pm so we can remember our MND Community together.
