Sometimes Silence Speaks Volumes
More than 80% of people living with MND will experience some form of speech difficulty during their illness – some will lose their voice completely.
I’m losing my voice so others can be heard.
Please give a Silence donation and help me reach my fundraising target in support of people living with MND.
By donating today – not only are you helping to fund our frontline nursing service, extra home care hours and critical equipment that's needed to keep people at home - you are also giving a voice to people with MND.
Vital equipment that the IMNDA provides includes communication aids like iPads with Predictable App so people with affected speech can still have conversations with their loved ones.
Our MND community have never felt more isolated or vulnerable. And right now, there are more than 400 people affected by this cruel and debilitating disease all across Ireland.
The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) is the only organisation in this country supporting these families and it’s a charity that’s very close to my heart.
Please support my fundraising efforts and help me ensure that every person living with MND can be heard.
A few words from Mike’s wife MaeveTuesday 1st Feb Thank you Nicola Crossan for raising awareness and funds for IMNDA. Every day is a challenge for Mike. Besides muscle loss he also has breathing difficulties so he has to limit his time speaking. Today was his first day out since 23rd December. He went for a short first drive in his electric wheelchair . Hopefully this lifeline will make him feel more independent. We have wonderful support from his doctor and IMND team and local occupational people. I am his 24/7 Carer and it's a whole new life experience for me too. Anyone that takes on the sponsored silence challenge will definately be appreciated by us and IMNDA. Thank you again x Maeve O'Healy-Harte Share
